Woop woop. Next release is officially scheduled.
I was pondering the thought of getting an external mastering for the remix I did. But I decided against it. Roy could certainly get out another 5% but in this case, I'm sufficiently happy with my own result so I don't see value in an external mastering.
As a side effect of thinking about this for too long, I got the idea to do a slowed down and a sped up version so the release would actually grow to become four tracks on the single! Ha! Imagine the value. A bargain. Buy more streams!
I remember how in the 90's and 2000's, single CDs often had funky additional versions like with Japanese vocals and stuff like that.
Anyway. The slowed down and reverbed version is attached to this post. I gave it a minus 12% on Logic's varispeed for both speed and pitch. Also, I added to separate reverb AUX channels with EQ before the reverb and compression after, to duck the AUX reverb signals when the track is loud and let it shine when the track decreases in volume. Valhalla and Blackhole reverb 💪❤️.
Finally, I found this wonderful edit of 4am by Vessels. Which in and by itself is a great track. In fact, it was one of the pieces of music that made me want to make electronic music. So the OG version is legit and so is this one: https://open.spotify.com/track/5JVEKoR1XQR2h6lN0YTmiV?si=d997e459d68a4f67
(yes Spotify, running this and Tidal atm)
