Despite me saying this release wouldn't go with a lot of effort and buzz and poking people to listen to the track, it was still quite cumbersome.
From my previous little Distrokid journeys I know that setting up artist profiles on various platforms, uploading pictures, biographies and all that can be a bit arduous.
That is also why I wanted to have this small release to take care of all that and have a clean home when the visitors come for the big garden party with upcoming releases.
However, the important bit ran really smoothly. We sat at McDonald's with our milk shakes when shortly after midnight, my check on Tidal was successful. Track was online! ✅ Same for Spotify! ✅
That's good.
In the morning, the distributor sent an email containing a link to stream on the usual platforms.
Towards the afternoon, when Alex' work week came to an end, she already started posting stories on Instagram.
Needless to say the link sharing amongst friends and family went a bit out of control. Although I'm quite certain most haven't even checked the music yet as the European Championship in Football ran in parallel.
I've spent the past two hrs creating banners, preparing pictures in the right sizes and copying bio's to claim, then update the Spotify artist page, get on soundcloud, get on bandcamp (because a guy we met last night during our shooting said he'd only listen to us on bandcamp!) and figure out how to claim an Official Artist Profil with youtube.
I think we're good to go.
A nice surprise was that our mastering engineer also shared the track on his Instagram. Good guy :)
Oh and the Spotify radio suggested a track called W.I.F.I from Wildermiss right after our track. Good taste. Great track!
