#192 - 20th October 2024 - ...and see what sticks.
More soundcrafting for the new project ❤️.
This is the my full battery of keyboard synths: Sub37 (Bass), PolyBrute (Pad), Osmose (everything else).
It glues nicely. To be fair, this was the whole point of recording all the synths instead of sampling and ITB preset shooting: Running everything through the same recording chain and thereby emulating the mixing console workflow should glue and mix the track while producing.
So only issue I could see coming is reduced immediacy when laying out a track in its parts horizontally; recording it all might be a hurdle for speed. On the other hand, I did copy/paste for same parts in the past, simply to have it there. So why not?
Ableton is on version 12.1. now. So the kick drum is a sample in the new Ableton Drum Sampler.
I haven't really checked Ableton's newer capabilities since v11 came out. I just could not be bothered and mostly stuck with my old workflow habits. But 12.1 has some interesting new Midi functionality built into the piano roll. This guy has a good overview.
And this functionality could be a game changer for my workflow too, as I'm often sequencing my external synths via Ableton.
Exciting week ahead. Hamburg calling.
