#189 - 17th October - A bit more of the same
Today I tried to apply envelopes from Maths and DFAM on filters and VCAs.
The clip only shows some noodling around so that is not it.
I wanted to check if the DFAM‘s envelopes could be used to transform a pad into a rhythmic element, similar to how Jon Hopkins does it in Neon Pattern Drum from about 00:40min to when the beat starts ~01:30min mark.
If I were to incorporate the eurorack into a live setup, these little transition tricks would come in handy for improvisational parts.
DFAM only has 8 steps in its sequencer. This limits the options for rhythmical complexity. But it should do the trick in a similar fashion to how Jon did it, although it won‘t sound quite as sophisticated given the limites options to really customize the envelopes precisely.
But that‘s what the DAW is for, and anyone could do that.
Also, the Filter Modulation on SSF dipole behaves strangely. I need to check the manual.
I really got rusty with my modules…😵💫
