#126 - 15th August 2024 - Exhausted. In a good way.
From around noon until 9.30pm, we spent the day in the studio.
We wanted to create recordings of us rehearsing tracks for which Benjamin came and filmed six run throughs of two different tracks.
The studio isn't exactly beautiful, but we tried to make the most out of it by bringing black cloth and creating atmosphere with lights.
I'm quite confident this worked out well. Benjamin is a pro. I'll send him audio tomorrow, based on which he can post produce the clips.
Also, we wanted to have our first live session which we ran as Instagram live, 8pm CET.
For both these activities we still needed to finalize sounds, presets, set up the drum trigger pad and all that.
It really took a lot of time, but now the Digitakt runs MIDI preset program changes to the Heat and Prophet. It works really, really well and gives me more headspace to focus on playing rather than switching sounds. Once set up properly, you can forget about it in the future and focus on perfecting the sound more and more.
Similar thing with the Roland trigger pad; the drummer uploaded a fresh set of samples I had created earlier this week. With that, the sound is pretty much spot on. I'm very happy about that.
So overall, we did everything we had planned for today. Most of it worked smoothly, thanks to having very good friends that help out with their know-how and equipment.
Happy days.
