#111 - 31st July 2024 - Rehearsal tomorrow...
That means I gotta get prepared. We haven't really rehearsed for at least two months. Social media shooting and tech sessions came in the way.
And since the prophet is in the studio, I figured I might as well rehearse on the living room e-piano. I'm not a piano player, so what do I know - but the keyboard is really good. I very much like how it feels.
Since I'm not a piano player, I also barely read notes and cannot play from the sheet. Neither piano, nor guitar.
For guitar I would just use tabs, chord sheets, write down very simple notations, and mostly for my own music - back in the day - simply recall my bits.
When playing keyboards, I don't have the same memory capacity. On guitar, it's a mixture of visual and auditory memory. Over time, I have gotten a sense of where something is played if it sounds a certain way. I hope that makes sense.
For keyboards, I got this for single notes, but for chords? No chance.
So long story short: To be able to play my own music that I have written months ago (so absolutely no recall of what's what), I'm taking screenshots of Midi notes in my projects and then painstakingly learn the songs again.
But then....it's pop music. It's not exactly complicated. My limited keyboard playing abilities are the actual hurdle.
