#102 - 22nd July 2024 - Euro Crack!

It‘s either love or hate. Euro Rack is this odd thing in the community of musicians that gives no room for negotiations.

It‘s the perfect „instrument“ for people who don‘t really want to make music but rather collect and build stuff. It‘s the model train for musicians.

Also, you sort of get away with it if you don‘t understand music theory and intervals. This little EP that I did in 2021 comes from a time when I predominantly used Euro Rack modules and patches to make music.

I still like it. It‘s punk. Or as punk as a Business Consultant can be. Recorded in one take, too.

Today, I rarely grab the modules when making music. It‘s a bit of a bummer. You just get otherworldly sounds out of there that other instruments can‘t give you.

But the occasional kick drum or DFAM loop still makes it here and there. There‘s also something very satisfying about recording directly through all the analog signal madness. You pay more attention to making it fit straight away. Less mixing needed this way.

I gotta make more music again. This whole social media circus drives me Nüsse.
